Diddy Rolls With Dirty Money In The ‘Love Come Down’ Video

dirtymoney
For those still not able to move on since the dismantling of Danity Kane, at least there’s new group Dirty Money to ease your anguish. The heavyweight trio formed earlier this year and consists of former DK member Dawn Richards, her original mentor Diddy and Kalenna Harper.

And, hark—Dirty Money’s video for single “Love Come Down” (sadly, not an Evelyn “Champagne” King cover) made it’s way onto XXLMag.com today. Check out the clip of the Jay-Z-borrowing song below:

Both “Love Come Down” and Dirty Money track “Angels,” yet another jam with a Hova sample, are set to appear on Diddy’s upcoming album Last Train To Paris. Here’s what Dawn Richards told Vibe about the LP:

“It’s the woman’s point of view. Puff had an idea of finding love, losing love and finding love again as a storyline, but he just didn’t want one perspective. We tell the opposite side and make the love story complete as narrators. We can relate to the story. If they split up, what is she thinking? So it’s through the eyes of both parties.”

See, it always comes back to love. And Jay-Z.

Hey, look everybody! They’re writing about not-white people!

  2. by brasstax at 2:02 pm

(in a non-gossipy context, that is)

@brasstax: So I can still visit Idolator for updates on all my exotic artists?

  5. by Thierry at 2:09 pm

Oops - “…my favourite exotic artists”.

  6. by brasstax at 2:11 pm

@Mr. Middletown: Read my addendum, zombie commenter. It’s the post directly above your own.

  7. Dear Robbie,

I see that you refered to Dannity Kane as “DK” after the first reference. That is fine, however, please do not refer to Dirty Money as “DM.” DM is reserved for Depeche Mode.

    Thanks,

    How do I say this…Throwdini!?!

Define “exotic” there’s some not so big names on here too such as fefe dobson estell (who is totally under-rated). Ive never found this blog to be biased.

@Mr. Middletown: Becky referred to Rihanna as exotic two days ago, but I don’t think it had to do with her not being a big enough name if you know what I’m saying.

Blogging unironically about Diddy. I’ve seen some professionals before, but you sir, are the most professional of them all.

  11. by Mr. Middletown at 2:25 pm

Alot of people would refer to Rihanna in particular as exotic considering she does hail from the Caribbean.

Blogging unironically about P. Diddy. I have seen some professionals in my time, sir, but you are the most professional of them all.

  13. by brasstax at 2:29 pm

@Mr. Middletown: Millions of other people hail from the Caribbean too, though. Where does one draw the line? I mean, if you and three other people live on a tiny island off the coast of nowhere, you’re probably exotic. Other than that, it’s a pejorative term and pretty much unwelcome when used to describe human beings.

Hey, Kool Thing, come here, sit down
There’s something I go to ask you.
I just wanna know, what are you gonna do for me?
I mean, are you gonna liberate us girls
    From male white corporate oppression?

@brasstax - dude, you commented on a blog more than 50 times in two days? Push back from the computer, put on pants, and go outside. You have no stake in this site; you should just move on.

@brasstax I think your over analyzing here, It was meant as a compliment and nothing more.

  17. by brasstax at 2:46 pm

@masstown: I’ve got a light workload this week.

@Mr. Middletown: Not that hard to analyze this, really. Over-analyzing would require me to get into the motives Becky has for using specific language and why she thinks it’s okay to do it based on her background and belief structure.

@How do I say this…Throwdini!?!: You have my word!

@masstown: brasstax’s comments are the only reason for me to visit this site now - they are like sparks from the embers of a dying fire

Nu-Idolator is to Idolator, as nu-metal is to metal.

  21. by Thierry at 3:12 pm

Also, brasstax has replied to everything re: “exotic” better than I could have.

  22. by sicksteanein at 3:14 pm

@Mr. Middletown: You know who else is exotic? The Orientals.

  23. by zombie commenter at 3:41 pm

Less Depeche Mode and more Britney Spears, please.

  24. by saturn at 3:55 pm

@How do I say this…Throwdini!?!: Does pointing out that DK is reserved for the Dead Kennedys make me old?

  25. @saturn: Crap! No, it makes me lame for not thinking of that first.

    Dear Robbie,

I appreciate your reply regarding reserving DM for Depeche Mode. Might I also recommend that you review saturn’s comments as it pertains to DK.

    Thanks,

    How do I say this…Throwdini!?!

    @How do I say this…Throwdini!?!:

But where does that leave Diana Krall?

  27. by StaticBlog at 4:52 pm

Dawn Richards was apparently in that DK lineup that got sued by Mr. Biafra. Unfortunate.

  28. @Robbie: Still married to musical genius Elvis Costello. I think she’ll live ceding DK to the group that brought us Holiday in Cambodia.

Hey GaGa-ites. Here’s a youtube link to Holiday in Cambodia.
