Lady Gaga’s ‘The Fame Monster’ Leaks A Week Early

famemonster

Unlike when “Bad Romance” leaked in early October, Lady Gaga has remained surprisingly mum on The Fame Monster making its way online over the weekend.

A few sites, such as the newly re-opened Music Is The Heart Of Our Soul, have posted the eight-song release in its entirety. Others, such as That Grape Juice, played it safe and simply posted a YouTube vid of snippets. Check out the clips below!

To these ears, the Ace Of Base throwback “Alejandro” is the top pick of the bunch. Of course, all judgment is reserved until the official November 23 release date, when you can actually—ahem!—buy a copy of The Fame Monster.

Meanwhile, Gaga performed a stripped-down version of new song “Speechless” at Los Angeles’s Museum of Contemporary Art’s 30th Anniversary gala on Saturday. She was interviewed by MTV at the MOCA event along with artist Francesco Vezzoli, who commented, “My wish is that the entertainment industry makes love more often with the art industry.” Naughty! “And you know I love that,” quipped Gaga in response.

Here’s the clip with Lady Gaga’s interview and bits of her performance of “Speechless”:

What are your thoughts on The Fame Monster?

I also find Alejandro to be amazingly ace-of-base-tastic. Love it.

I really doubt she INTENTIONALLY leaked her album, though.
(And p.s. the Rihanna album leaked a few days before this did)

ZOMBIEBOT GRATEFUL FOR GAGA UPDATE. BATTERIES RUNNING LOW. QUERY: WHERE IS BRASSTAX? ZOMBIEBOT MISSES BELLIGERENT POSTINGS. JUSTIN BIEBER 4EVAH. CTRL ALT DEL?

while the songs are no where as amazing and witty as ZOMBIEBOT’s comments - the fame:monster is excellent

Probably beating a dead horse but, while I am more than happy to enjoy new editors, are we pretty much limited to Top 40-only around here?

@2ironic4u: horse is still alive (though it clearly went down for a few hours there). our tastes are definitely more eclectic than just top 40 artists, but we do have to pay attention and cover all the big names at the moment releasing new music and videos. (lady gaga, rihanna, etc) we are aiming to cover less widely known/offbeat artists as well.

@Becky: But - and correct me if I’m wrong - so-called “big names” record/release/leak new music/pictures/album covers/videos on a daily basis, and if they don’t you make something up (see the post with the stills from the Gaga video). The most “obscure” artist covered here since Nu-Idolator has been Solange, and even then I read about the cover everywhere else before it was posted here, so allow us to take the claim that you are aiming to cover more “offbeat” artists with a grain of salt…

@Thierry: We’re trying for a certain balance. Beyond the huge names, we’ve touched on people like LIGHTS, Sugababes and Amerie, and we’ll continue in that spirit. As for the Bad Romance stills, we feel like people will be talking about the imagery from that video for quite a while, so posting the photos didn’t feel way out of bounds.

ZOMBIEBOT AGREES WHOLEHEARTEDLY. GAGA VIDEO IMAGES NEARLY AS TIMELESS AS BILLIE JEAN/SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT/LATEST JUSTIN BIEBER VIDEO. PLEASE TO CONTINUE COVERING OF ZEITGEIST.

This album wasn’t leaked, some stupid italian website was selling it early :)

But it is definitely worth buying. A masterpiece of pop music!

LIGHTS, Sugababes and Amerie aren’t “huge names”?

  13. by hughes at 6:41 am

Oh wait, I get it. Buzznet also owns Stereogum and Absolute Punk, so they’ve already got two solidly “alt” titles in their portfolio; someone in management decided to take Idolator to an all-pop, all-the-time format, supposing that the loss in core readership will eventually be set off by the rise in traffic from search engines. Go bean counters!

Alejandro really sounds like Ace of Base. It made me remember of “Cruel Summer’. I love it and would love to buy the whole thing.
