Have A Voyeuristic Look At Beyonce And Lady Gaga’s ‘Video Phone’

November 16th, 2009 // 7 Comments

Today brought about the premiere of Beyonce’s clip for the remix of “Video Phone,” featuring Lady Gaga. And let’s see what we’ve got here… Stunning wardrobe? Check. Decent budget? Check. Two of modern pop’s biggest songstresses looking their hottest ? Check. Awesome, catchy song? Uh oh.

Well, even if you’re less Team “Video Phone” and more Team “Telephone”—i.e., Beyonce’s other duet with Lady Gaga, which appears on Gaga’s upcoming release The Fame Monster (listen)—the Hype Williams-directed vid is still worth a look, if only to see B channel pin-up starlet Bettie Page.

See “Video Phone” in all its curvy, latex glory after the jump.

Well that was interesting…. Well first wow at lady gaga looking “normal” shes quite cute when shes not trying so hard I’m positive shes got something done with that nose… it had to be a few sizes bigger a few months ago… beyonce with the bang that’s super hot I cannot denie it (Rihanna got jacked, and whats worse beyonce looks better with it, ha!)

Now on to the music: on a semi-controversial note I feel like beyonce is going threw some Mariah Carey phase where her marketing has been so “commercialized” over the years now that shes got more freedom shes trying to be more “ethnic” and I don’t know what to think about it she basically raps in Telephone. It all just seems abit weird to me I just don’t know what to think of this!!!

The Song just isn’t doing it for me…. not even gaga could save it (and of all songs to put gaga on why this one? a cross-marketing plot for their other collaboration?) and another thing Gaga clearly isn’t one with her hair extensions like beyonce is that hair slinging bit on the floor was a hot mess.

Haven’t seen beyonce try so hard to be sexy since her Destiny’s Child “Bootylicious Remix” days

I should say it is a surprise not to see GaGa covered in blood or being attacked or hanging from a wire. Bravo!

This clip seems like it was rushed through post so it could compete with ‘Bad Romance’ – something it fails at.

Ditto Mr. Middletown. Beyonce’s talented, but at this point, it’s hard to notice that when her songs are complete drivel and her image is selling her more than anything. In other words, she’s got Lady Gaga syndrome (hence the collaboration). She better change her game plan and start making DECENT music that doesn’t just appeal to the 106 & Park crowd, and rely less on her sex appeal in order to avoid becoming a joke of the music industry once she’s past 35, like Madonna. Same goes for Gaga. Those two are too talented to become has-beens, but their music doesn’t exactly scream “timeless, quality stuff”.

I couldn’t agree more with all the comments. For years I admired Beyonce and her ability to sing, act and perform stellar. But this video could be a sign that’s she’s losing her touch. What happened? Yikes. Gotta pray for her.
