Alicia Keys Suits Up In Her ‘Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart’ Vid

alicia-keys

In her new video for “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart,” Alicia Keys tries flying in a purple catsuit. The melodic ballad is Keys’ second single off upcoming album The Element Of Freedom. As noted yesterday, Keys’ fourth studio album (out December 15) will also feature collaborations with Drake and Jay-Z.

In the “Try Sleeping…” vid, Alicia rolls around in bed, shimmies in a stairwell, then heads off to various parts of the city to do heroic deeds—such as healing a little girl’s hurt dog in the street! (That must be the power of songs in A minor.) She eventually ends up shaking her booty on top of a building in said one-sleeved catsuit until she confronts the gentleman who we’re to assume is the villain causing this super diva’s broken heart.

See, it all makes total sense. Catch Alicia Keys’ “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart” clip after the jump.

“Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart” is now available on iTunes.

I heard this song on the radio. at least I think I did: because I really liked what I heard there and looked up the video on youtube. Seing this horrible video sort of spoiled the song for me. She should definitely fire her director for this one. The purple catsuit will give me nightmares for weeks on end. The "pointing your finger into the camera and beckoning somebody to come nearer"-gesture is as camp as it gets, total cliché. And the product placement? Lets just say that artists obviously have to find new ways of making money what with youtube and illegal downloads and all. But still: the sunglasses and the motorcycle shoudn`t be the most impressive parts of a music video. alas, they were!

I can't believe this song would be described as a filler. I think it's the best song on the album. I am from the UK though, and we have different taste. Country doesn't even exist in Britain, thank goodness! The video is pretty cheesy though. But I have serious wardrobe-envy for that purple catsuit! :-)

This is one of the best songs I've ever heard in a very long time. The mixture of an 80's sound with her unique songwriting capability and vocal strength is superb. I am hoping that this will be a Chart Topper pretty soon following her success in collaboration with Jay Z's hit single, 'Empire State of Mind', which is the current Number one single on the U.S charts.

I like this song, this would've been a far superior first single then "Doesn't Mean Anything", which was a ripoff of "No One". The video could've been better, though

Maybe there were a few good remixes here and there, but... her entire back catalog is a snooze.
  • Guess her new album is DOA content-wise. This song feels like a CD FILLER.
