I don’t understand why everyone keeps labeling people “Justin Timberlake” like it’s some high praise.

Is it shorthand for a passably-charming-&-entertaining-and-undeniably-hardworking-but-increasingly-mediocre-than-former-pop-superstars type of act? If so, well, then, okay.
