Adam Lambert Tells The ‘Early Show’ He’s Not A Babysitter

adamAdam Lambert trotted onto CBS’s Early Show this morning, after ABC canceled his scheduled Good Morning America appearance. Hopefully you weren’t expecting the American Idol runner-up to issue an apology for his so-called raunchy American Music Awards performance on Sunday night—because that clearly wasn’t gonna happen.

“I’m not a babysitter,” Lambert said, when asked if he felt he should apologize to his child fans who may have been watching the AMAs. “I’m a performer.”

Catch Adam’s interview and performances below.

As for the man-on-man kiss and face-in-crotch shove that went down during Glambert’s awards show gig, he said, “I admit, I did get carried away. But I don’t see anything wrong with it… Those [moves] kind of came from more of an impromptu place. No, those were not rehearsed. I think ABC was taken a little by surprise. That wasn’t my intention. I wasn’t being sneaky. It just, it got the most of me, I guess.”

What Adam should have asked is why the networks keep choosing to re-air the controversial clips, if they were so offensive. At least he gave a good answer when asked if there was anything he’d change, given the chance to do the AMAs all over: “I would sing it a little better”

Here’s Glambo doing the appropriately-titled “Whataya Want From Me” and “Music Again” on the Early Show:

  • As Towleroad has pointed out - CBS has decided to blur out the Adam Lambert guy/guy kiss and follow it almost immediately with TWO girl/girl kisses which were not censored.

I don't understand why this article does not mention this massive double standard.

Thank Merciless Wotan that Idolator is boldly committing itself to so much Adam Lambert and Lady Gaga coverage. Ignoring new music or interesting trends in the music business will let you guys run with the herd, and be one of a million. Whatever you do, don't distinguish yourselves with anything that might not be found at TMZ. Otherwise, I might have to start coming back to this site.
