Adam Lambert Tells The ‘Early Show’ He’s Not A Babysitter

Adam Lambert trotted onto CBS’s Early Show this morning, after ABC canceled his scheduled Good Morning America appearance. Hopefully you weren’t expecting the American Idol runner-up to issue an apology for his so-called raunchy American Music Awards performance on Sunday night—because that clearly wasn’t gonna happen.

“I’m not a babysitter,” Lambert said, when asked if he felt he should apologize to his child fans who may have been watching the AMAs. “I’m a performer.”

As for the man-on-man kiss and face-in-crotch shove that went down during Glambert’s awards show gig, he said, “I admit, I did get carried away. But I don’t see anything wrong with it… Those [moves] kind of came from more of an impromptu place. No, those were not rehearsed. I think ABC was taken a little by surprise. That wasn’t my intention. I wasn’t being sneaky. It just, it got the most of me, I guess.”

What Adam should have asked is why the networks keep choosing to re-air the controversial clips, if they were so offensive. At least he gave a good answer when asked if there was anything he’d change, given the chance to do the AMAs all over: “I would sing it a little better”

Here’s Glambo doing the appropriately-titled “Whataya Want From Me” and “Music Again” on the Early Show:
