Chris Brown Not Performing Anymore on GMA, Will Talk About Rihanna Instead

False alarm, folks. Chris Brown won’t be causing any (additional) double-standard controversy by singing on Good Morning America right after the ABC morning news show nixed a performance by non-babysitter Adam Lambert. Chris will now be promoting his album Graffiti by—what else—talking about his beating of Rihanna. Again.

After pleading the fifth and tiptoeing through questions during interviews with Larry King, MTV and Wendy Williams, Brown is expected to finally “come clean” with GMA host Robin Roberts about what happened that night when the interview airs on 20/20 on December 11. Will many of you feel better after you hear the words come from Chris’ own mouth? Or should we (and Brown and Rihanna) just try to move on?

Trying to fit in one last vague interview before spilling his guts, Brown called in to DJ Whoo Kid‘s radio show, revealing to the DJ that he’s in “a better place,” but noted that (really, you better sit down for this, it’s a stunner) “winning people back over and just really making people see the good person I am is kind of hard.” Indeed it is, although DJ Whoo Kid points out that in a poll with his viewers, 70% of women polled forgive Brown for beating Rihanna.

That’s seventy percent. Amazing, isn’t it? Do you have to forgive somebody’s reprehensible behavior in order to enjoy their creative output? Or if you love the art, you must love the artist, and vice versa? We don’t find it incredibly shocking that people are listening to Chris’ music again, but to completely forgive the man for beating up his girlfriend?

We almost would prefer if Brown performed on GMA instead of participating in yet another interview; while we certainly don’t forgive Brown for his actions, we’re really tired of hearing about them.
