Justin Bieber Covers Eminem While in Detroit

Justin Bieber certainly knows how to get people (other than screaming fan girls) to pay attention to him—by associating himself with bigger names in the music biz. Usher, check. John Mayer, check. Cobra Starship, check. Eminem… Why the hell not? While performing at a concert thrown by Detroit’s Channel 955 this past weekend, the 15-year old Renaissance kid paid homage to Mr. Mathers (and blatantly pandered to Em’s hometown crowd) by performing the opening verse of  the smash 8 Mile anthem “Lose Yourself.” Gosh, you can really feel him channeling the anger.

Bieber Tweeted “Detroit was nuts…had to pay respect to that guy from 8 mile. EMINEM is a beast.” Check out Justin’s handling of the Grammy- and Oscar-winning song after the jump:

Not too shabby, JB got all the rhymes down and everything—and his broken foot is looking a lot better, too. Hopefully Em is honored by Bieber’s live cover version and doesn’t start insulting him in his songs like some other (un)lucky pop artists. Eh, even if he does, we all know Justin has no problem fighting back.
