When Adam Lambert sat down on the couch with the ladies of ABC’s The View in a not-so-live segment that aired today, Barbara Walters explained that the reason he was being pre-taped was—duh!—because of the singer’s controversial American Music Awards performance last month.
“Yeah. Protect your children, people,” Adam quipped in this second meeting with Walters to air in the past 24 hours. “It’s a one-time performance,” Glambo continued, as Babs continued to ramble on about the singer’s perceived “loose-cannon” nature. “It wasn’t meant to be an announcement of this is how I’m gonna be, now, all of the time.”
He does, however, admit that his father called him a few days after the AMAs and said his son should think about issuing an apology to the public. “I said, ‘Well, Dad, I didn’t do anything wrong’,” Lambert notes. “I don’t think I’m sorry for anything.” Watch the full View interview after the jump.
The American Idol runner-up’s best line came when Joy Behar remarked, “You’re not exactly a nice Jewish boy, let’s face it, Adam.”
His response: “I’m a little different. My dreidel spins the other way.”
Here’s hoping this puts the whole ABC vs. Adam Lambert thing to rest, because that’s one on-again, off-again relationship that’s getting nearly impossible to keep up with.
Gee Robbie I guess it must be jealousy that fuels all this disrespect for Barbara Walters, because you truly aren’t fit to hold her notepad.
@ MhS — Not even Barbara holds her own “notepad” anymore…the nice nurse does it. I’m tired of Barbara trying to seem even remotely attached to modern pop culture–she needs to retire and go back to her real calling: introducing “Tales From The Crypt.”
That line about his dreidel was hillarious and very off the cuff. I love Adam’s graciousness, quick wit, and sense of homor. This whole thing has been like a mountain out of a mole hill!! His music performance on the View was lovely and his album rocks!!
Greetings: ABC, I usually watch you most of the time, but now-a-days~-NOT ! Quit throwing your tantrum, I’m sick of you dissing Adam, who is a very charming, intelligent man, who has talent galore. ABC – GIVE IT UP, LET IT GO, AND LET’S GO ON with the SHOW ! Who cares about the AMA performance of Adam Lambert ? We are looking at a SINGLE performance – only one – ONE SONG OFF THE CD. I wish y’all would just cool it and pay attention to the VOICE ~ THAT FABULOUS VOICE OF ADAM’S. Even though Adam may have stepped over the line just a bit, we must remember that even though Adam is GAY he’s really just a male, and males are usually known for taking chances, stepping out of the box, and doing silly unconventional happenings to “shock” the entertainment world. But, when the females do the same things as Adam did, those acts are pshawed and laughed at. Perhaps the song “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” applies in the “suits” minds.
