Lupe Fiasco Is Obviously Team Jacob In Video For ‘Solar Midnite’

picture-11We have a feeling Lupe Fiasco’s proposed retirement after his looooong-delayed next album will last about as long as Jay-Z’s, since Fiasco has displayed a complete inability to stop cranking out new tunes. After rapping over Radiohead on his “cassette-style” mixtape Enemy of the State: A Love Story and writing several other tracks in response to MTV competitions, Lupe has recorded the song “Solar Midnite” as a bonus track for the digital version of the New Moon soundtrack. And it appears partially designed to restore the balance among New Moon’s warring creatures — this one’s for the werewolves, or anyone not yet sick of Taylor Lautner’s abs). Check it below:

Where Death Cab for Cutie’s “Meet Me On The Equiniox” vid was Edward-focused, it’s only fair that another video off the soundtrack would hype the Team Jacob-led CGI werewolves.

The New Moon soundtrack is already a hit, peaking at #1 on the Billboard 200 just like its predecessor, and there’s still two more movies left in the franchise, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn (which may even be split into two separate films). So, we’ve got at least two more Twi soundtracks to go, and if there’s a god in heaven, the Brazillian band U.K. will be on either one of them:
