The reason for the low first week sales of Chris Brown’s Graffiti? According to the singer himself (via Twitter), “Major stores r blackballing my cd. not stockin the shelves and lying to costumers. what the f*ck do i gotta do…”
Brown has apparently latched on to the idea that retailers are refusing to stock the pop star’s third studio album, and to prove his point, he hit up a Walmart in Wallingford, CT on Saturday. Below are his tweets that followed after his surprise visit:
“We talked to the managers and the didnt even know anything. wow!!! but they had alicia keys album ready for release for this tuesday comin… the manager told me that when there are new releases its mandatory to put em on the shelves.. BUT NO SIGN OF GRAFFITI. BS… no disprespect to alicia at all.. just givin an example to whos album is loaded and ready to go next week.”
To be fair, there’s probably a slight difference in how Alicia Keys treats her girlfr—er, boyfriends. Chris needs to just own up to the fact that he’s coming out of crisis mode, and is likely going to have to eat crow for a long, long time.
And heaven forbid Graffiti’s lackluster sales have anything to do with the fact that the album’s first two singles, “I Can Transform Ya” and “Crawl,” are a complete snooze.
Maybe Chris just needs to regroup, calm down and quietly carry on with his tour. Then again, what are the odds of that happening?

Dear Chris,
Maybe you shouldn’t have beaten up your girlfriend, asshole.
I’m sure he’s upset that he can’t punch anyone because of this.
Oh please stop acting like this boy murdered someone! I’m not saying he was right for his actions but move on people please! He made a mistake and he is paying for it
Guess what, it is about time that Chris Brown grew up and realized that his actions have consequences.
I’m sure he knows that his actions have consequences. He’s been reaping the consequences all year.
Music is music. No matter what he did, his CD shouldn’t be banned from store shelves.
Not really, these messages show that he sees himself as a blameless victim
@Mika – Chris Brown was a big douche and should be treated as such.
Maybe his lackluster sales have to do with the fact that his album sucks. I mean, I heard 2 pieces of songs and one full song and they were all terrible. Make a decent album and maybe you’ll get some sales.
The whole hitting your girlfriend thing probably doesn’t help either.
@wakeupbomb: Along with the accompanying photos of said beaten up girlfriend
Dear Chris Brown -
We like our R&B superstars—R. Kelly, Michael Jackson—to have sex with children, not be domestic abusers.
Love,
The World
Have fun FLOPPING, asshole!
Paying for it is right. Now stop acting like a ‘PUSS’
What I want to know is…who are those 102,489 people that did buy the CD?
That is still a heck of a lot of people! And coming in at number 6 is still not that bad, what was he expecting ?
Chris calm your nerves(smile). There are people like me who still have faith in you as an artist. First, and 4most none of us know any of these artist personally so, we should step back and think. yes, he made a mistake and he is human so are we. God is the only one to judge so stop trying to step in his shoes. What happened was the fault of many. They both are young and stepping into a world with no boundaries and they are surrouned by people who REALLY DON'T GIVE A SH*T about them. They both need some guidance. BUT KNOW THIS CHRIS YOU ARE VERY TALENTED AND I BOUGHT 3 OF YOUR GRAFFITI CD'S and GOT IT OFF OF ITUNES. They are indeed quick to judge but, just give it some time like the OTHER ARTIST who have made mistakes. PLEASE STOP GETTING UPSET and GIVING THEM WHAT THEY WANT. It's time for you to be strong, let people say and do what they feel as though they have to do and you do what you have to do for CHRIS BROWN. In a minute it will blow over and they will be focused on the next person. The wound is only as deep as you let it be. Let your true talent shine and your loyal fans will be there. They are feeding off of your negativity and angry outburst so, lay low and they people who love CHRIS BROWN the artist will be there.
To all of the people who are out there judging this young man I HOPE YOU NEVER MAKE A MISTAKE. Chis know this all of this SH*T and the way it played out was and is a SET UP. Rihanna came out with a statement right before both of you guys CD's came out. What happened between you two was personal and it should have stayed that way. If she loved you enough to keep the secret then she should have loved herself even more and went to THERAPY. She focused on record sells and used the personal issue to boost her and damage yours. It was never about helping young girls because if it was about that she wouldn't have went through the personal issue between you two. There are so many women out here who have spoke out about it like Whitney. Whitney handle hers with so much class. I live in the DC metro area and I have seen with my own eyes that the stores here have your CD. There was a fire and she through fuel on it and you are feeding it with your outburst(keeping it going).
STOP BEING EVIL ONLY GO CAN JUDGE HIM NOT U
ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE HIM PEOPLE
ONLY GOD CAN JUDE HIM PEOPLE
