There's no way American Idol can compete The X Factor. There are similarities between the two. Nonetheless, X Factor draws more viewership; judges mentoring the contestants and being actively involved throughout the show makes the show feel more serious and believable. Really, it is a massively successful program that I can't wait to come to North America.

If the rumors are true then isn't it the case that AI is just being renamed X-Factor, with maybe some superficial changes (different set, some different judges maybe).
