Recently Ke$ha set a record for having the highest one-week digital sales tally for a song by a female artist when “TiK ToK” racked up 610,000 downloads. She’s a relative newcomer on the scene, but with class-act lyrics like “I’m talking about everybody getting crunk, crunk/ Boys tryin’ to touch my junk, junk/ Gonna smack him if he getting too drunk, drunk,” we can’t help thinking there’s a chance the 22-year-old might be washed down pop’s unforgiving garbage disposal by the time the next decade rolls around.
Flip through to see what other acts we’re predicting won’t be bothering the charts when it comes time to raise a glass to 2020!

Ke$sha has completely ripped off uffies sound and style. and Uffie did it better
There need to be some formatting changes to these stories you have to click through the pictures on. They are hard to read and I rarely get through one.
Agreed I like Tik Tok but Ke$ha ripped off Uffie totally, She can't sing and isn't rememberable
In all honesty most of the acts out now will not be around in 2020. Just think about who was running billboard charts in '99 early 2000, most of them are long gone. A lot of acts can really only have a 5 to 7 year run at a massive level of popularity, if that. Can't wait until some artists take a nice long break (Taylor,Rihanna , Miley Cyrus and all the other non- singing singers). Less hype machine, more talent please!
They're already forgotten about. It's no longer a prediction.
Once again, already a distant memory.
They never became important enough to be one-hit wonders. Can't name a single song by these guys. But hey, anything's possible when you're related to Quincy Jones, right?
Never liked her. She's a poser. Always has been, always will be. She'll probably more successful writing songs for other artists.
Oh, I DEARLY hope so, for the sake of rock music.
Yeh, Lady Gaga is gonna be around in 2020. Her act won't grow tired…I mean, it hasn't already, or anything. 5 years is the cycle of a pop singer, even really great ones. And if someone characterizes her non autotuned voice as “singing”, and actually uses that as a badge of honor to describe as…a singer (can't dance, obviously), the case is made even more that people are already grasping at straws.
Acts that rise fast fall harder, especially ones that have children as their fanbase. Ooops, I hear a girl discovering David Bowie……….
I mean, probably BE more successful writing songs for other artists.
It reminds me of that quote by Gene Kelly in the movie “Cover Girl”.”When you get to the top quick, you fall quick”. It's very true in a lot of cases, but there have been some famous exceptions. Madonna burst out on top, and more than a quarter century later she's still running the show. Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera are still around and relevant (although Britney should've been a one-hit wonder, I'm baffled by her long-running success), Alicia Keys started out winning 5 Grammys for her first album, and she keeps racking up those awards with each new album she releases. Beyoncé and Justin Timberlake started out as teenagers in cheesy boy bands/girl groups that were only destined for 2-3 successful albums at best, yet they reached even greater heights as solo artists with no signs of stopping or slowing down yet showing. Conversely, there have also been artists whose success took a little longer to take off, and when they do reach that little peak of success, they fall off the map pretty quickly as well. It took Rihanna 2 albums before she became a household name, and now it seems she's already on her way to becoming a has-been, and at the ripe old of 21, no less. I think it's just a matter of luck, it depends what you're destined for. Maybe you were meant to be huge and be around for a long time, maybe you were meant to end up on an episode of VH1's “100 Greatest One-Hit Wonders”, it all depends. Nobody can ever predict with 100% accuracy who's here to stay and who isn't. Only history is the best judge of these things. Maybe Lady Gaga will be relevant for the next couple of decades, maybe she'll only be relevant for the next couple of years. Although she can control the outcome by changing up her silly act and actually make music that doesn't sound like a slightly edgier version of all the crap that's polluting our radios. She said she likes Kate Bush, why doesn't she try making music like her? She could still keep her over-the-top eccentricity, but at a much more respectable and classy level. Or her sheep fans will continue to swallow the crap she currently makes, and they may never grow tired of her act.
just goes to show no one cares enough to comment!
PCD are the best !
And we will remember them in 2020 !!
AVRIL IS THE BEST !!!
She is not a poser and never will be !
She does things her own way…she's my idol !!
Avril WILL NOT be forgoten !!
Why Is Everyone So Concerned With Being Main Stream Just Make Your Music And Have Fans That Support You Is That Not Why They Do It In the First Place. 3Oh!3 4 Life!!!!!!!!!
I think Lady Gaga will be around for quite awhile. She was already written off as a one-hit wonder, and now she's about to land her fifth consecutive #1 on Top 40 Mainstream.
I'm also glad to see that Kelly Clarkson is not on this list. That girl's got, aside from her incredible pipes, unbelievable staying power. Seven or eight years after winning Idol and she's still churning out hits.
I strongly disagree with David Cook. He's currently working on the Next CD. and he has extremely Loyal fans. I think before you name him as one of the few that will disappear, you should at least give him a chance to put out a sophomore album… If his first album was amazing, I really doubt he'll be hitting the sophomore dumps… Unlike a few artist now a days.
JLO isn't going anywhere!!!! Don't be silly… That's why nobody comes to this site!!!!
hahaha, i 4got bout him already!
Lady Gaga is so intelligent!
I hate this when we say “smoking isn’t poor, the best way to expire involving obesity than smoking” that just means that they are BOTH poor.
