Susan Boyle Controls The Chart For A Sixth Week

It’s a sixth week at #1 for Susan Boyle on Billboard‘s Top 200 Albums chart. That said, with the holiday shopping season now behind us, I Dreamed A Dream dropped from sales of 510,000 the week prior to 137,000. Still, even though she narrowly missed out on having the best-selling album of 2009—an honor that went to Taylor Swift—the Scottish song chippy did wind up with 3.1 million copies of her debut moved in less than two months.

There’s not much other action on the album chart this week, save for the Avatar soundtrack—which features the Leona Lewis ballad “I See You”—leaping up from #103 to #31. As of Monday, Avatar has taken in $360 million at the U.S. box office, while globally it’s racked up $1 billion.

So will Ke$ha and her collection of ho-pop trash tunes bump Susan Boyle off her comfy throne next week? Dare to dream, Jack-chugging music fans.
