Good mornin’! Hope you’ve all recovered from your People’s Choice Award hangovers (one part vodka, two parts indifference). Let’s get to the mix!

Did You Hear?

:: Michael Jackson is officially 2009’s top selling artist, beating out Taylor Swift. Too bad the universe didn’t let him finish. [E! Online]

:: Carrie Underwood will guest star on How I Met Your Mother, known at CBS as The Show Top 40 Artists Can Get On With One Phone Call. [Just Jared]

:: Pepa (real name: Sandra Denton) of 80’s rap group Salt-N-Pepa will appear in her own VH1 love-quest reality show, Let’s Talk About Pep. We don’t know if watching will be very necessary, but the title wins for best reality-TV pun of the week. [Hip Hop Wired]

:: Pete Wentz and Mark Hoppus are contributing a song to the Alice in Wonderland soundtrack. We knew Pete would find a creative way to spend his hiatus from Fall Out Boy. [MTV]

:: Pharrell is writing the score to animated feature Despicable Me and Muse might score Clash of the Titans. Chances are neither soundtrack will outsell this. [Beatcrave, Clash Music]

:: Chris Daughtry covers Elton John’s “Madman Across The Water.” He doesn’t tweak the lyrics too much. [mjsbigblog]

Behind the jump: Nick Jonas spreads his wings on TV again, and proof that a music video doesn’t need to hawk body parts to keep us glued to the screen:

Music On TV Tonight:
:: Jimmy Kimmel Live (NBC) – Puddle of Mudd :: Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (NBC) – Performance by the Broadway cast of Fela :: Late Show with David Letterman (CBS) – Nick Jonas and the Administration

VIDEO REWIND OF THE DAY: We’re so excited for Alanis Morissette’s upcoming book, we went back and re-watched her entire videography. It was hard to pick just one to highlight (“Ironic” is arguably her best, but such an obvious choice), so we went with “Head Over Feet,” which proves even Alanis’ wobbly head alone is entertaining enough to keep us tuned in for three minutes.

Have a great day, everybody!
