Hear Nicki Minaj Shut It Down In “Saxon”
A snippet of the dubstep tune “Saxon” has been doing the rounds since last fall, but the full version featuring mouthy rap princess Nicki Minaj finally popped up on her Barbie World mixtape recently.
“Saxon” was whipped up by British producers Chase & Status, and is said to have been intended for Rihanna to record for Rated R. It’s certainly a dark enough jam for that dreary set. Oh, well—Ri Ri’s loss is Nicki’s gain. Hear “Saxon” after the jump!

It’s interesting to hear a whole Nicki Minaj song where she doesn’t rap once in it, and where she takes on the persona of Rihanna by opening with “Guess who, you bitches, it’s Ri Ri”—even though this is just a guide track used during the Rated R sessions.
Who knows—with all the collaborations Nicki’s been throwing herself into lately, maybe a duet with Rihanna in the future isn’t that unlikely.
