Adam Lambert Auctions Off His Underwear For Haiti On ‘Ellen’

EllenAdam Lambert performed “Strut” for the special Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday that celebrated the talk show host’s 52nd birthday. But it was the items he put up for auction for Haiti earthquake relief on Ellen’s website that really got the crowd cheering—an autographed portrait of himself and, uh, his underwear.

“I wore my special Ellen underwear,” he told DeGeneres, as the audience cheered wildly. Guess that answers the question “Whataya want from me?” Lambert admitted, “They might be a little sweaty, but these are up for auction as well.”

You know, it’s funny—you don’t see Kris Allen pulling out his briefs on TV! Catch Glambert offer up his drawers below!

The bash kept rolling as Ellen watched a video clip of stars like Mary J. Blige, Diddy, Justin Timberlake, Keith Urban, Oprah Winfrey and Paris Hilton giving her their birthday wishes.

“You know I love you so much,” recent American Idol guest judge Blige gushed. “I always have and I always will. You’re probably one of the realest people I know.”

Diddy praised the host, as well, saying, “I hope I’m married to a pretty girl like you, hope I can still dance like you—I love you. Happy birthday.”

This creep offers his underwear for Haiti relief? Not only is that unbearably arrogant, but it's insulting to the tragedy that that country has suffered. Has he no shame at all?

  2. mary  |   Posted on Jan 27th

    The best performance ever.

  3. kim25899  |   Posted on Jan 27th

He did not wear them, or even say that! This is a total lie. If you bother to look at ebay, it says they are NEW, never been worn!!! Get your facts straight before you post and insult people Denisha!

  4. DH  |   Posted on Jan 27th

It's in the spirit of raising money, you moron.. Who cares what he auctions as long as it raises money for a good cause? He could be auctioning off a chewed piece of gum for that matter. And I think you don't really understand the meaning of “arrogant”. Might want to look that up in the dictionary, sweetie……

Well, so far the bid is $3100.00. Sounds like he knew what he was doing to me. Go ADAM!!

  6. Lisa  |   Posted on Jan 27th

Geez people, it was a joke. He donated NEVER WORN underwear that was given to him by Ellen Degeneres. (It was a special souvenir gift to him w/ her logo name.)
Before this gets way out of hand, here is the listing from e-bay with it's NEVER WORN description:

    “Signed Ellen underwear:
    Size: Men's medium
    Color: Black
    Condition: New, never worn
    Signature: Adam Lambert”

I sense a new revenue stream here for pop stars: whenever someone proffers underwear (as over-excited fans are wont to do), sign it and auction it.

  8. bossyerudite  |   Posted on Jan 27th

Well…he DID say, “They might be a little sweaty but, these are up for auction as well”. It led one to believe that the underwear that he wore on the show (for the “Strut” performance) are, in fact, the ones that are up for auction! That is why I believe, in less than 3 hours after the show aired, the bid went from $99 to well over $1,500.

People who ONLY want to donate to Haiti relief efforts could do so easily by contacting the Red Cross, UNICEF or any of the other organized efforts out there.

BTW, Adam was “workin' “IT”" during his performance!!! Who WOULDN'T want to have the very same undies he hocked on the show? I think if Adam said they would be new, never worn undies for auction, then they wouldn't have commanded such a high bid so far or nor the amount of interest.

  9. bossyerudite  |   Posted on Jan 27th

Offering up your undies for auction is about as shameless as a celebrity can get! He literally proved that his star status and ego are not “too big for his britches”!!!

Besides, EVERY official spokesperson involved in Haiti relief efforts has stated over and over again: They don't need volunteers, food, clothing or other supplies!!! What they need is MONEY!!! Adam Lambert is helping Haiti by raising MONEY!!! What is so “insulting” about that!!??

BTW, the only thing “CREEPY” about Adam Lambert is how he constantly and relentlessly attracts all of these homophobes, self-rightous prognosticators, apparently flawless beauty queens/kings, critically acclaimed (and publicly adored) genius talents, and other various “HATERS”!!! Why do people like you WASTE YOUR TIME searching for, looking at, commenting on, and spewing negativity towards this man!!?? You do it like it's your JOB! Don't you have a business plan to write, a degree/certification to get, children to raise, memories to make with friends/family, GOD / religion / spirituality in your life, or a decent understanding of the “Golden Rule” principle???? GEEESSHH!!! Don't spit in the air!!!

I'm sorry but I feel the problem lies within yourself. I laughed watching this and I would love to buy his underwear worn or not. And if it raises money for a good then great. Go Adam! Love ya!

  11. Peggy  |   Posted on Jan 27th

I admire Adam very much…even on the idol tour he made over 250,000 for charity…and now he is trying to help with Haiti……you mention Kris don't put up underwear, I havent heard where he has done anything for anyone. but Kris…… well, I would buy Adam's if they were signed…….and the picture is beautiful……

  12. Fran  |   Posted on Jan 27th

I love Adam and think putting up his underwear for Haiti relief is hilarious and will help the cause. As for Kris, he is GOING to Haiti to help out so I think he is doing his part also. Go Adam AND Kris! They are both amazing singers and beautiful people!

  13. belle  |   Posted on Jan 27th

    Denisha,
I see you are on another site bashing Lambert for no reason again. You sure do seem to be obsessing over him. I am obsessing but I love him; what on earth are you doing??? Again, you are absolutely wrong: the donation was brilliant because he has so many fans willing to bid on anything he offers. The facts speak for themselves: >$3,000 already.

  14. cheyennew  |   Posted on Jan 27th

Peggy, Kris is another decent, caring man, just like Adam. You have no idea what he has done for Haiti. I do know that he intends to go over there, and that will be no picnic. Adam doesn't need his friend put down to put himself up.

  15. cheyennew  |   Posted on Jan 27th

Adam is soooo sexy-when he pulled his undies out of his pants with that wicked grin, admitting that they might be a little 'sweaty', but would be up for sale…oh my. He is a baaad boy! Now, what's that bid up to?

  16. Lisa   |   Posted on Jan 28th

If I had the money, I would want the worn undies, not the new ones, Ha! Ha! You guys do not understand our obsession with Adam, which is fine with us. All we want is to be left alone with our fantasies. Why is that so hard? Whatever Adam does, we will support. Is that so difficult to understand. I hope that tomorrow, for Adam's birthday, donorschoose.org and the Redcross see loads of donations in Adam's honor. I know I plan to give $28 to each for Adam's 28th birthday.

  17. ianaleah  |   Posted on Feb 5th

Adam is a wonderful, kind person, and like Kris Allen, does not have a mean streak whatsoever !. The Ellen ware is given by her to selected celebrities on her show and the New Unworn pair autographed by Adam Lambert are therefore rare and unique and one-of-a -kind that got the buyer and investment that will go up in value and got Haiti $8,500- dollars. Everyone wins. Thanks Adam and Ellen.

Adam Lambert is not arrogant and he did not insult Haiti's tragedy. He understands that there is a demand for his signature on items. He joked about the underwear in a lighthearted moment for Ellen and his fans (it was her birthday after all). The signed underwear on Ebay, of course, had never been worn. Adam Lambert in lieu of fan's presents given to him for HIS birthday, asked that fans donate what they could afford to donorschoose.org to help out the arts in schools around the USA. He is definitely thinking about others and using his fame to direct monies towards charitable causes. A nice, thoughtful, super talented singer and certainly not arrogant at all.

This is hardly a new concept to auction off personal items. This money went to charity. Brad and Angelina raised quite a bit of money by selling their babies first pictures, which I thought was pure genius. It is insane how much magazines would pay for the pictures…why not direct the money towards charity if you are in a position to do so. Adam, Ellen, Brad, and Angelina are all good, socially responsible people.
