She was already set to perform at this Sunday’s 2010 Grammy Awards ceremony, but now Song, Record and Album Of The Year contender Lady Gaga will open the show, notes Billboard. That roar you hear echoing throughout the hills and valleys? Just the gleeful celebration of Gaga’s horde of monsters.

One rumor flying around the Twittersphere is that Lady Gaga will be joined by Elton John for her opening gig. Adding glitter to that sparkly fire is this announcement from the official Grammys Twitter account: “Confirmed: Roberta Flack, Elton John, Jamie Foxx, T-Pain, Slash, Doug E Fresh, Green Day w cast of American Idiot.”

Hmmm. Actually, Lady Gaga and the cast of American Idiot sounds like a more exciting combo. Also set to perform at the Grammys: Drake, Eminem, Lil Wayne and Travis Barker.

“You heard it here 1st: nominees @drakkardnoir, @EmiNeM & Lil Wayne in a special performance w @trvsbrkr added to the stellar GRAMMY lineup!” announced another Grammys tweet.

Can we expect some sort of mashup of Drake’s 2009 hit “Forever”—which Weezy and Em featured on (along with Kanye West)—and Wayne and Eminem’s “Drop The World”? Let’s hope not. Viewers might not be able to handle that much aggression.
