Girls Aloud singer and X Factor judge Cheryl Cole can finally put her internal conflict over the will.i.am co-produced song “Parachute” to rest. Last October in a video blog Cole stated that the track, which appears on her UK solo album 3 Words, caused her to have “massive fights with myself,” since she initially wanted it to be the lead single off the LP. In the end she opted for “Fight For This Love.”

“Parachute” follows up the title track from 3 Words—which featured last night’s big Grammy winner will.i.am on vocals—as a single release. She’ll also appear alongside Susan Boyle, Kylie Minogue, Bon Jovi, Take That, Robbie Williams and Mika on the cover version of R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts” that was organized as a Haiti charity single.
