Poor Sabrina Washington. Until now, the former lead vocalist for UK girl group Mis-Teeq has had to sit back and watch her onetime bandmate Alesha Dixon rack up a string of solo hits—and a 2010 Brit Award nomination—in their home country, while Sabrina herself has been stuck doing gigs like I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! (American listeners will know Mis-Teeq best from minor hit “Scandalous,” which appeared on the Catwoman soundtrack a year before the trio split up.)
But the 31-year-old singer is finally recording her own solo album, and the Sugababes-esque first single “OMG” is due out in March. Is the tune worthy of its title? Find out below!
Sabrina Washington - OMG
Actually, speaking of Sugababes, “OMG” is at least more memorable than their latest offering, “Wear My Kiss”–which isn’t saying too much.
Hopefully Sabrina’s got a few electro-pop ditties up her sleeve with a tad more of that old, uh, mystique—especially if she wants to compete with her former girl group chum. Because Internet slang contractions alone do not a hit make.
And while we’re at it, here’s Alesha Dixon’s “Breathe Slow,” which is nominated for British Single at this year’s BRITS:

Hey JR, it's working here. Let the post fully load, and wait till there's a “play” button displayed on the audio player.
VERY catchy song … im actually excited to hear more stuff by her, i wonder how this will chart … it deserves to go at least top 5, maybe even top 3 but it wont unless she prototes it and stuff
