I am so confused as to why this is such a controversial issue. I have no dog in either the Lady Gaga or Taylor Swift corner of this bizarre dichotomy some people (not you Dodai!) have set up, and frankly I’m surprised anyone does. But 600 comments on the subject of whether Taylor Swift is awesome or not awesome?

I believe Taylor is a great singer, however some little variety would help. We all know that pop is ver popular, yet she focuses on romantic songs. But don’t get me wrong, I personally LOVE HER!! You might think I’m one of those girls whose bf’s dump em and then they listen to sad songs and stuff but no. The truth is that Taylor’s songs are very inspiring and you-want-to-listen-to-them-again-and-aga… type!!! I’ve heard to Miley Cyrus, Selena, Demi but they are nothing compared to Taylor. Taylor showed me what life was really about. She made me find the inner me.

Taylor Swift has had an interesting career – there’s a few contrasting discourses surrounding here celebrity. On one hand she’s this innocent, virginal girl, but on the other, the media is certainly trying to play up her relationship with Taylor Lautner et cetera. I hope she is able to cope with the pressure.

I believe some of you just really do not get Taylor, and that is fine. Not anyone is planning to adore her, just as not all people will really like or recognize Gaga or others like her. I do not think Taylor is actually the goody-two-shoes-you-have-to-be-a-virgin-till-marriage that most folks think her to be, nor is she anti-feminist. She just has writtten her existence as she knows and sees it up to this point, and millions of girls and grown women and men as well have empathized with her; they do not necessarily feel in a fairytale globe, they realize that it can be fairytales and dreams along with real existence she sings about. As for the Fifteen song; to me the meaning of that song is “girls, obtaining a hot guy in school who’s a star on the team and possessing sex thinking it is intending to last forever with that guy and being common isn’t genuinely as crucial as it feels. You’re proceeding to grow up and your dreams will expand and change, and those points aren’t planning to define your existence forever” I may well be wrong but that is what I hear when I hear the song.
