Jay Sean Goes It Alone On An Acoustic Version Of “Do You Remember”

Billboard recently wrangled London-born hitmaker Jay Sean into the publication’s studio for a little acoustic performance, where he offered up a stripped-down rendition of his recent single “Do You Remember.” And if you always wondered what the tune would sound like sans the additional vocal stylings of Sean Paul and crunkfather Lil Jon, head down, down, down, down below.

Now see— wasn’t that nice? In the below interview clip, Jay talks about how the collab with Jon and Sean Paul came to light. He also waxes philosophical about having a #1 hit in America.

“When ‘Down’ went to #1, it’s one of those situations where a dream literally presents itself and goes, ‘Here you are. I’m here. You dreamt about this moment and it’s here’,” the 26-year-old singer explains.

“But I also know that, I mean, come on—you can’t expect every song to be a #1. That’s just crazy, do you know what I mean?”

Well, despite that thinking, Jay hasn’t fared too badly with “Do You Remember”—last month it peaked at #10 on the Hot 100, becoming his second U.S. Top 10 hit in a row.

Not bad for a self-professed science geek.
