The pop stars were all out on February 24th, for the 2010 Shockwaves NME Awards. Unlike the Grammy Awards, which adheres to strict rules and traditional genre categories, NME likes to keep it loose, often poking fun at the whole award-show concept. Among the night’s winners, Kanye West won Villain of the Year, La Roux (our pick for best hook/chorus of 2009) took home Best Dancefloor Filler, Lady Gaga walked away with both Best and Worst Dressed. As for our beloved The Jonas Brothers, they were named Worst Band with the Worst Album of the year. Ouch. Flip though our gallery to check out artists like Ke$ha, Lily Allen, Ellie Goulding, and even Courtney Love, who though not Shockwaves NME winners, probably walked away from the night thinking, “Geez. At least I’m not the Jonas Brothers”.
