Being of Portuguese descent myself, I've been trying to find out if Sky is of Portuguese or Brazilian descent. Anyone know? The last name is a giveaway and I love bigging up Lusophone-American artists.
Hey, Ricky. I’m of Brazilian descent myself and I was also curious about Sky Ferreira’s ancestral background, so I did some research. According to several online sources, one of her parents is of Brazilian extraction and her other parent is of Portuguese American and Native American descent. So, Sky Ferreira is of both Brazilian and Portuguese descent, along with Native American, as well.
My bad, the previous information I provided was slightly mixed up.
So, I just read an article where she states that her father is of Brazilian and Portuguese descent, while her mother is Native American. So, Sky’s ancestry is in fact half Native American, a quarter Brazilian, and a quarter Portuguese.
