When the inevitable Lady Gaga covers album arrives at some point, here’s hoping Ocean City, Maryland’s As An Aquarius make the cut with their angsty rendition of “Telephone.” The track, which also features Bryan Zimmerman of Sky Eats Airplane, is a surprisingly sound (if not a tad screamy toward the end) version that makes us want to dance around with sadness in our steps—as opposed to Alphabeat’s take on the tune, which makes us want to dance around with glow sticks in our mouths.

Lady Gaga and Beyonce’s “Telephone is currently lodged at #12 on the Billboard Hot 100. The music video is set to premiere on Thursday’s edition of E! News.

Except for the screaming at the end, this is superior to the version on the radio…and I like Beyonce AND Gaga!
