Adam Lambert Turns Down The Advances Of A Straight Guy

Adam Lambert took Australia by storm with his drastically diverse performances, but it appears that fans are just as interested in hearing the glam rocker talk as they are to hear him strut-and-sing. Adam sat down with Triple M radio show host Byron Cooke for a one-on-one… and, apparently, the Aussie reporter hoped the interview would turn into a much more intimate affair. Cooke thought it would be a hoot to ask Adam out on a date, despite the fact that he’s heterosexual and they just met. Check out Adam’s reaction, along with other musings on his personal life, in the video clips below.

Adam politely declines the jokey invitation for a date: besides being straight, Lambert admits that Cooke is “too masculine” for him. He keeps it lighthearted, but makes sure to add, “Just because you’re gay it doesn’t mean you just date any dude.” Well said, Adam. We’re glad you didn’t play along with Cooke’s demeaning proposition—although it obviously was meant for a laugh, the host should’ve realized how insulting it is to suggest that two men going on a date would be a hilarious punchline.

Patronizing jokes aside, the interview continued. Adam discusses many of his “firsts”: his first album (hint: it doesn’t include anything written by Kara Dioguardi), his first car, and who the recipient of Adam’s first kiss happened to be. It involved a BJ, and no, we’re not being dirty.

Check out Triple M‘s site to listen to the rest of Adam’s interview, including why Adam wisely chose classic rocks during his stint on Idol, and his thoughts on his collaborations with the likes of Muse and Queen. But our personal favorite collaboration of Lambert’s has to be this one.
