Since ax-wielding Aussie musician Orianthi was featured in one of the most successful concert docs of all time, Michael Jackson: This Is It, it make sense that she would know what makes a great rock flick. In anticipation of her performance on American Idol tonight (singing “According to You” while inevitably slaying it on her guitar), we hit up the singer/songwriter for her Top 5 Favorite Rock Movies Of All Time. And she came up with an eclectic list that may surprise you. (Okay, maybe one of her picks is a little obvious, but we can’t blame her for including it.) Check out some rockin’ works of the big-screen below:

Almost Famous: “Really cool movie. I love all the characters, especially the heart this movie has.”

Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story: “I’ve seen this movie too many times. It’s really funny! I love all of the different phases that Dewey Cox goes through.”

Rock Star: “One of my favorites! I especially love how the singer is discovered in the audience singing along with the band, and then becomes a huge rockstar. Then [Ed: Spoiler Alert?] he learns that’s it not everything he thought it would be and passes the torch again to another fan in the audience.”

This Is Spinal Tap: “I love the part with Stonehedge and when they couldn’t find the stage.”

Michael Jackson: This Is It: “I think the way this documentary as a whole was put together makes everyone feel like they were there with us during the three months of rehearsals—for what would have been the biggest show on earth! I especially love how it showed what a big heart Michael had!”
