Mariah Carey’s Life May Be A Musical One Sweet Day

Something tells us this news is just a sweet, sweet fantasy, baby. But whatever—we’ll go along with it. Celebuzz has picked up on reports that whistle-register squeal bird Mariah Carey has high hopes that her life will soon be played out under the stage lights of the Great White Way. That’s right, folks—Mariah Carey: The Musical. Now doesn’t that just sound like fantasy stardust? But wait—there’s more!

BroadwayWorld.com notes that a Mimi “spokesperson” confirmed she’s “in talks for a Broadway musical to be made about her life in 2009.” Yes, you read that right—2009. As in last year. See, this story is sounding more and more believable by the minute.

Carey also reportedly “secretly likes the idea” of Leona Lewis playing her on stage, because “not only is she exotic, she’s the only one who they reckon would be able to tackle Mariah’s eight-octave vocal range.”

Funny, we’re not sure even Mariah herself can tackle an eight-octave range these days. Hence her not playing herself, we suppose.

But screw Leona. We suggest hiring this chick—mostly because we just want to watch this clip for the 56th time:

Let’s just hope that if this dog and pony act ever gets off the ground, they include this scene.
