‘American Idol’: It’s The End For Brokenhearted Didi Benami

American Idol contestants Didi Benami, Tim Urban and Katie Stevens all found themselves plunged into in the bottom three last night during a results show that boasted performances by Season 2 champ Ruben Studdard, Tuesday night mentor Usher and Diddy with his latest project Dirty Money. And once again, we found ourselves wishing the producers would just kill three birds with one stone. (Er, with the bottom three contestants, that is—not the guest performers.) Catch all the action below!

Stevens was the first one of the bottom three to find themselves safe this week. That meant it was down to smiley guy Tim Urban and crybaby Didi Benami. And here’s how that went down:

Sigh. Not even Didi’s decent final performance of Fleetwood Mac’s “Rhiannon” was enough to save her, despite Simon Cowell telling her it was “a million times better than what you did last night.” That makes us really sad. NEXT!

Here’s hoping Tim Urban lasts for several more weeks. Because at this point, his sarcastic grinning, laughing and overall nose-thumbing at the judges is reflecting the collective thoughts of viewers of this dire season.

Here’s the velvet teddy bear, Ruben Studdard, performing “Don’t Make ‘Em Like U No More”:

Usher, doing his current UK (and now, U.S.?) single “OMG” (watch the music video), with a little help from Will.i.am:

Diddy Dirty Money, performing “Hello Good Morning”:

Next week the Top 9 tackle the John Lennon/Paul McCartney catalog. Expect us to be praying, “Mother Mary come to me.”
