If you purchased tickets to Ben Folds’ latest tour in the hopes of witnessing a little ChatRoulette concert action, we’re sorry to be the bearers of bad news. After delighting the Internet with his tribute to the Piano Chat Improv jester known as Merton, Ben is retiring his black hoodie for good. Folds uploaded a compilation of highlights from his Richmond and Charlottesville shows, calling it the “Endmost Ode To Merton”. Lest anyone miss the title’s implication, he tweeted that he didn’t want “to make a career of this”. I will miss some of his strange and witty, but I can understand that his time needs to be put towards tunes not tweets!
