Will Miley Cyrus’ Upcoming “Techno” Album Have Us Raving Till Dawn?

Recent American Idol mentor Miley Cyrus sat through an interview with MTV’s Rough Cut to promote her new flick The Last Song. Actually, we should probably say suffered through, because Miley rattled off her answers so rapidly and so blandly, you’d think someone was waving a cattle prod in front of her, forcing her to sit through the Q & A. Anyway, a few of Miley’s non-answers hinted at the direction of her upcoming third studio album I Can’t Be Tamed—and you’d best get glow sticks ready. Catch Miley’s low-energy sitdown after the jump.

Here’s perhaps the most eyebrow-raising quote from the interview: “My new record has more of a techno vibe on some stuff. It’s fun. You know, I just want to kind of do all different types of music, same as I do with movies. I never want to get stuck in a rut and just do one thing.”

We’re choosing to take Miley’s statement at face value, and therefore can not wait for her album to wow us with sounds like these:

Underworld – “Born Slippy”

Orbital – “Chime”

2 Unlimited – “No Limit”

Sigh. If only. Then again, who knows? Come on, don’t let us down, Miley. We’ve got our pacifiers, pink dreadlocks and teddybear backpacks ready in anticipation!
