“You can hear the crowd singing the song over the song, and that’s a good feeling,” Bobby Ray tells Billboard during his headlining stint at New York’s S.O.B. nightclub. The Atlanta rapper should get used to audience-led sing-a-longs to his songs—his debut album, B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray, drops in stores today, and you can hear him perform his #1 hit “Nothin’ On You” before a raucous live crowd by taking the jump.

“When I made ‘Nothin’ On You,’ I didn’t know what to expect,” says B.o.B., whose music has finally found a home in the mainstream. “I’ve had two songs on the radio before , ‘Haters’ and ‘Cloud’ 9′, but nothing on a global scale. I feel like it’s good that this time it’s exploding, because if it would’ve happened from the beginning, it wouldn’t have been as much of a solid foundation as it is now.”

B.o.B is clearly a lover of all music—besides his album featuring an eclectic mix of artists such as Eminem, Lupe Fiasco, Hayley Williams and Rivers Cuomo, the rapper has sampled the likes of Coldplay and Vampire Weekend and had only amazing things to say about Florence and the Machine during our sit-down with him at Coachella. “It’s a well-rounded album,” he says. “I’ll say it’s solid.”

Check back at Billboard.com to see B.o.B perform “Voltage,” another track off The Adventures of Bobby Ray, then hit your neighborhood digital store to pick up his debut album.
