Talk about pressure. North Carolina rapper J. Cole has been wrestling with — and mostly exceeding — expectations since Jay-Z offered him a verse on the Blueprint 3 track “A Star Is Born”. Now, after releasing two (strong) mixtapes and countless rhymes on other artists’ songs, J. has dropped his own official single “Who Dat”. You’ll only need to hear that throwback beat and his old-school flow once, and you’ll know. Check it below:

Cole and his associate Elite, “Who Dat” is a track that will sound great blasting out of car windows. (Though it may sound different next time you hear it – Elite tweeted that this wasn’t the final version, and as Nah Right pointed out, this was missing the intro from J.’s live performance. In good time.
