Ke$ha’s “Tik Tok” Gets Simpsonized

There are enough people on the Internet imitating Ke$ha that it was only a matter of time until The Simpsons would satirize it. Last night, in place of their typical title sequence couch gag, the Simpsons honored both the oft-headdressed pop star’s hit “Tik Tok”, as well as music fans’ penchant for remaking music videos in their own image. Whether you’re a fan of Ke$ha or not, it was pretty great. Meet Lisa, Bart, Homer and the rest of Springfield in the back with the Jack at the jukebox and watch a totally Simpsonized “Tik Tok” below.

Lisa and the citizens of Springfield lip-syncover Ke$ha’s vocals (besides Bart, who takes over for Diddy’s brief shout out) while causing a ruckus all over the town. Considering the source material, it’s a wonder nobody got their “drunk text on” in the clip, although Groundskeeper Willie does literally brush his teeth with a bottle of Jack Daniels:

Ke$ha couldn’t have done it better herself. And she approves, too, tweeting the brief-yet-heartfelt sentiment of “Wooo!!” in response to the intro.

Sadly, the glitterfied gal and her somewhat offensive headdress do not make an appearance in the couch gag, so it looks like we won’t have to alter our list of the Best Pop Star Appearances on The Simpsons.

As far as what the show could tackle next in terms of lifting ideas from YouTube, how about a couch gag made up of every last character on The Simpsons doing the “Single Ladies” dance or remaking the “Telephone” video with Homer and Carl in drag?
