Chris Brown Fightin’ Mad After Performing The National Anthem At A Boxing Match

Chris Brown belted out “The Star-Spangled Banner” on May 1 at Las Vegas’ MGM Arena, during the Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Shane Mosley boxing match. He received a warm reception from the crowd—but really, Chris? Performing at a fight? After everything you’ve been through over the past year? The radio repellent singer might want to have a little sitdown with whoever is booking his gigs. Watch Brown croon the national anthem below, and then check out his Twitter rant following the ensuing criticism.

“I’m nervous,” Brown tweeted just before singing at the match. But the next day, the singer—who recently released a mix tape with Young Money rapper Tyga—rattled off a series of tweets seemingly aimed at his detractors:

* “Im human. how many of u r perfect????????”

* “if there is no forgiveness, there is no change… im humbled by everything…”

* “if i wasnt somewhat sane and loved my fans and music so damn much i would give up.. but thats not why i was put on this earth… youll see!”

Sounds cryptic. One final message was posted to his Twitter hours later: “lord, let me find the strength to get out of my own way so that ur work can be done.”

On that note, let’s just pray Breezy lets go of the chip on his shoulder and accepts that perhaps some people just aren’t ready to forgive him yet. And, hey—this might be a good time for him to quit Twitter (again).
