A snippet of a brand new Kelly Rowland song titled “The Sound” surfaced today. Picking up where “When Loves Takes Over” and recent jam “Commander” left off, “The Sound” is another energetic dance-pop tune that should please loyal fans of DJ/producer David Guetta. Rowland’s label Universal Motown confirmed to us today that her third solo album, which is still yet to be titled, now has a release date of September 14. Head below to hear Kelly take things to the disco once more with “The Sound,” and to watch her perform “Commander” live.

Kelly’s evoking some old-school Eurodance vibes with this one (where did we put that Real McCoy CD, anyway?), while still maintaining a current feel thanks to Guetta’s top-notch production. Can’t wait to hear the full version!

And here’s David and Kelly performing “Commander” for the very first time at the Winter Music Conference in March. (Note: It sounds like the live vocals have been stripped out for the recorded version—unless the onetime Destiny’s Child diva was lip-syncing?)
