Michael Lynche was given the boot on American Idol last night—a fact which should have surprised no one at this point. What was shocking was that Casey James was declared safe while fan favorite Crystal Bowersox landed in the Bottom Two with Big Mike. (Don’t get lazy with the dialing, MamaSox fans!) “You know, it’s been unbelievable, man,” Lynche told host Ryan Seacrest about his Idol journey. He then referenced his near-elimination five weeks back, when the judges used their one-time save on him. “I just sit here right now and I think, I wasn’t even supposed to be here.” Watch how it all played out for Michael after Songs Of The Cinema Week below!

Big Mike goes bye-bye.

Season 3 winner Fantasia Barrino performs her latest single “Bittersweet.”

Daughtry performing “September.”

Next week: hold onto your hats, tweens—recent Oprah guest and budding movie star (in your dreams) Justin Bieber will be performing during Idol‘s May 18 episode!

Until then, why not relive this week through the eyes of our guest blogger, Bo Bice?
