I have to say that i am a massive fan of the xx and i think that if shakira had sung it to begin with it would be really ODD! not quite my cup of tea. i am not a massive shakira fan but i do quite like her, and i don’t think she is unique enough to carry it off.

I agree, The xx is way to good to be covered by someone like her. Maybe if she wasn’t a complete sell-out it would be tolerable but she still did a bad job covering it. Her voice just doesn’t match the xx’s style and uniqueness. For those who think she’ll make the xx famous, well your just stupid. If they gain fans through her than they’ll only be temporary and not true fans.
