What was that? You’ve been anxiously awaiting a music video that channels vampire chic, Olivia Newton-John’s Xanadu fashion sense, the creepiness of cult rituals and zombie erotica? Why, friends—we have just the video for you, then. It’s Goldfrapp’s “Alive,” and you can watch it after the jump!

“Alive” is the second single released from Goldfrapp’s Head First LP. Last week Alison Goldfrapp blogged about the video shoot: “It was so much fun! Every one involved was amazing and we had a great laugh.”

The duo produced the track themselves, while Richard X provided additional production.

Loving Alison’s gold vampire teeth bling! But, hey, wait a minute—why do all the men die and then the women start gyrating on a pentagram in this video? (And more importantly, why is that giving us the naughty tingle?)

At any rate, we recently asked the singer about working with Richard X on the song:

“He helped with some of the sounds and some of the drum programming. He was someone that we just kind of met and said, ‘Hey, do you fancy having a go on some of this?’ He did, and we didn’t think about it for ages. Then we went back to some of the things that he’d done and we kind of really liked it. But that’s sort of very minimal, to be honest. But, you know, minimal can make a big difference too. He just put a big fat bassline in there, which we really liked, and gave it a kind of sheen that we were into.”

Next month Goldfrapp hit the States for three dates—Washington, D.C. on June 21, New York City on June 23, Oakland, CA on June 26 and Hollywood, CA on June 27—before heading to a gig in Mexico City on June 29.
