Are you ready for Lil Wayne to rock your Memorial Day? Four music videos of tracks from Weezy’s Rebirth will debut this weekend on MTV Jams, and we’ve got a preview of two of them. Check out clips from the vids of “Da Da Da” featuring rock band ¡MayDay!, and “Knockout,” with Lil Miss Barbie herself, Nicki Minaj.

Lil Wayne feat. ¡Mayday! – “Da Da Da”

These two videos, including the vids for “Runnin” and “Get a Life” (also premiering this weekend), are just four of the nine videos Weezy made in one weekend in Miami before being sent off to jail. (Well, when he was originally supposed to be sent to jail until a courthouse fire delayed his sentencing.) Which would explain why both clips seem woefully under budget and somewhat slapped together.

Despite the time constraints during filming of both videos, we’re really enjoying both rock-rap songs from Wayne, and we’re looking forward to seeing the full length clips. However, why release four music videos in one weekend?

We get that it’s a holiday, and that remembering the incarcerated Lil Wayne seems to be the MTV’s chosen theme for its Memorial Day coverage. But wasn’t the point of stockpiling all those videos to ensure that Wayne’s team at Cash Money would be able to stretch them across the duration of Weezy’s jail sentence? It does feel like they’re blowing a little too much of the wad in one weekend. Maybe Wayne will explain his reasoning in another blog post?
