‘Bionic’ Woman Christina Aguilera Sits Down With Fuse

June 9th, 2010 // 2 Comments

For some reason when Christina Aguilera sat down with Fuse, “Dirrty”—a song that’s now eight years old—repeatedly came up throughout the 19-minute conversation (“I’m proud that I had the balls to do it!”). Of course, the lyrics to that one make some of the ones on Bionic seem like Shakespeare. But the standout quote of the entire gab fest (aside from her interviewer coining the word “patrillion”)? “If I’m a bitch then I’m a bitch!” Watch below.

Xtina discusses how she got the role in Burlesque (“They had seen the work that I did when I hosted SNL.”). She also talks about her son and her husband (who she says is “that one solid thing down the center that just seemed to bring everything into focus.”), as well as the provocative imagery in her “Not Myself Tonight” video (“I can’t think about that. It’s not really on my agenda to worry about what are people going to think of it.”).

Thankfully, the sexy S&M-clad singer was spared any questions about Lady Gaga comparisons.

So did you pick up Bionic this week?

  1. interviewers for some strange reason constantly focus on the same dull irrelevant topics when speaking with christina. why is it they spend so much time delving into elements of her past career and her life as a wife and mom. it’s as though they want to make the interview as lackluster as possible since these are topics that generate little interest. why are they not expanding on her current career projects? avoiding discussions of lady gg is like ignoring the elephant in the room. actually, it would have made for an intriguing conversation. maybe there’s a fear that a christina–gaga connection would be too beneficial to christina’s career. it seems there is an all out plan to stifle christina’s career. no matter how outstanding her performances on various venues…oprah, american idol, mtv movie awards…etc she is totally shut out of any media coverage. what is with this strong hate on christina campaign?

I too am left wondering about all this Christina/Gaga Drama. I kinda got it with the “Keeps getting better” performance. But in Not myself tonight it clearly strikes as Madonna on several levels. If that looks like L. Gaga then perhaps she to got inspired from Madonna.
