We already know that Sia is adept at writing haunting ballads. And Christina Aguilera’s second Bionic single “You Lost Me,” which was co-penned by the Aussie singer, is no exception. (Thankfully that one missed being included in our Top 10 Worst Lyrics On Bionic list!) But when the emotional tune goes to radio next week, it’ll have a snaky beat added to the official radio mix. Give it a listen after the jump.

We’ve been championing “You Lost Me” from the get-go. After all, Xtina feels more in her element with this type of tender ballad than while slithering around on the floor with PVC bondage gear wrapped around her particulars.

“She’s pretty awesome. It was pretty crazy when she sang at me for the first time,” Sia told us in March while talking about working with Christina. “It’s been a really good collaboration, actually. We really got along great. We didn’t bin anything, which was good.”

And as subtle as that drum beat on the radio mix of “You Lost Me” is, there’s a certain Phil Spector/Wall Of Sound vibe going on there now. Sort of like “Unchained Melody” meets “The Long And Winding Road.”

Could this subtle change do the trick and garner a hit for Aguilera?
