Timbaland And Dr. Dre Suprise Culver City High School’s Graduates

One of the benefits of growing up in the Greater Los Angeles Area is that rapper/producers Timbaland and Dr. Dre can just drop in and give you a surprise performance for your high school graduation—which is exactly what happened to the Culver City High School’s Class Of 2010 last night. Dr. Dre took the gymnasium stage, motioned to the reception’s DJ and said, “Can somebody help me get this man off the stage?”, before Timbaland performed “The Way I Are,” “Promiscuous Girl,” “Carry Out” and “Say Something”. Jump below to see highlights from the HP and Interscope-sponsored grad party.

The message (or ad campaign) of the surprise concert, which we’re sure was lost on the graduating class who was busy going bananas at the surprise, was to tell teens of the importance of listening to music with quality equipment. What kind? We’re assuming Beats By Dre headphones (made by HP), of course! While clearly a promotional event for HP, they did donate $10,000 in computer equipment to the school. And unlike Timbaland, Dr. Dre did not perform last night. Perhaps he’s not ready to debut any of his long-awaited Detox album live yet.
