Probably from too much celebrating of her 18th birthday (that or an evil sea witch stole her voice), Selena Gomez developed laryngitis. But instead of canceling her appearance on Lopez Tonight, the lil trooper decided to charge through the interview anyway, using hand signals and a robotic voice in order to answer George Lopez’s questions. It’s awkward! It’s funny! It’s a mute Selena. Watch below!
“I’m sorry. I’m so upset,” Selena’s robot voice tells the audience. “But at least it’s funny?” When Selena tries to laugh later using the machine, it just sounds creepy (and kind of sarcastic).
Selena’s machine goes on to talk about her new movie Ramona and Beezus, inform us that she’s been 18 for less than a week and already has three grey hairs, and tells us how her friendship with Justin Bieber comes in handy.
“I like to say his name on stage, because if I’m performing badly, I say his name and the crowd cheers.”
Maybe if she said his name when we first saw her dual birthday cakes, we would have been more impressed with them.
Aww, I’m so happy for Selena. She’s a beautiful, talented girl and it made me happy when she was so touched that Mr. Lopez said he loved her show and all that. :D
i will pray for selena gomez because i heard that she wasn’t feeling well she had laryngitis which is alright and i hope she is doing fine now with her family and texas. her brothers and her parents are supporting her and god will heal her and she will be just fine. i love you selena gomez and i will pray for you get well soon.
