Usher Gets A Purple Makeover On His New Cover Art

Somehow we thought the cover art for Usher’s Versus would be asthetically related to its predessessor Raymond V. Raymond… but, alas, no. While Raymond positioned two morose Ushers mirroring each other, Versus’ cover is just a photo of the R&B star with a purple filter screened over, the album title sprawled on one half of the frame. (The deluxe edition of Raymond carries a similar motif.) What did Team Ush think—it’s summer, and no one wants to look at a super serious photo of an artist looking depressed? Figures.
