Silly Love Songs: We Imagine The Paul McCartney Episode Of ‘Glee’

The news broke today that Sir Paul McCartney personally sent Glee creator Ryan Murphy a mix tape of songs to consider for Season 2 of FOX musical hit. However, nowhere does Murphy reveal that all of the songs on the exclusive mix CD were Beatles tracks (and the show has already used “Hello Goodbye”). For all we know, the former Beatle might want Glee to consider using a song that his butler wrote. Personally, we’re hoping that Paul is offering up some songs he wrote from his lesser-used (ahem, played out) music libraries including Wings and Badfinger. See how we think some of Sir Paul’s non-Beatles songs could perfectly be incorporated into the sophomore season of Glee.

“Dance Tonight” (Paul McCartney) Did somebody say Homecoming episode?!

“Silly Love Songs” (Paul McCartney & Wings) Valentine’s Day Episode? Rachel and Finn serenade one another over a candlelight dinner at The Olive Garden after Rachel finally admits she loves him, too.

“Wonderful Christmas Time” (Paul McCartney) Christmas/Chanukah/Kwanza episode? Perhaps the New Directions performs as part of a Christmas pageant sung by their new ring-wing Christian member.

“Come And Get It” (Badfinger written by Paul McCartney) We imagine Mercedes singing about a boy she has a crush on who’s been giving her the runaround.

“Band On The Run” (Paul McCartney & Wings) Thanks to Sue Sylvester, all the members of New Directions get detention on the same afternoon as Sectionals. Our Gleeks have to break out to make it in time to compete.

“Maybe I’m Amazed” (Paul McCartney and Wings) Puck sings an acoustic version as a lullaby to his newborn, Beth.

What other Paul McCartney songs do you think will be used on Glee? Tell us below!
