Back in May, MTV asked Taylor Swift about the theme of her upcoming LP. “What do you think? Boys and love,” she replied matter-of-factly. And she wasn’t lying. Head below to have a listen to “Mine,” the lovey-dovey first single off Swift’s upcoming third album Speak Now (due out October 25).

Taylor wrote “Mine” and co-produced it with Nathan Chapman. And we’ll say this about the 20-year-old Grammy winner—she knows how to tap into nervous young adult angst over first love and still make your feet shuffle around while hearing about it.
That said, we can’t help feeling that, both musically and thematically, we’ve heard this song and dance before from Swift. We get it—if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. But hopefully there are more tracks like “Fifteen” on Speak Now to go along with all the “Love Story” sound-alikes.

I usually like all of her musics, but this one is not good… The melody is not nice, she is kind of screaming and not singing and the lyric is kind of sad.

dud3, i love this song so much.. i listen to it OVER & OVER & OVER, & for the people that keep putting her down about her music.. its her style everyone is so negative these days,, if you dont like the song keep your negative opinions to yourself, just because shes not singing about having sex & drugs & drinking doesnt mean her music sucks.. its about real life & what actually happens insted of half the garbage people are singing these days, i hope this song goes straight to the top, Taylor deserves it, ( :
i would assume you haven’t heard all of her songs if you think that those two are the best…lyrics wise, the ones with the best lyrics are on her first album, Fearless is only her second album…the sngs there were pure country and i think they’re her best…although i also love her fearless songs ^_^…got addicted to all of em

I LOVE this! It sounds just like her, and she sounds just simply beautiful! Keep it up taytay!
Unlike her last album that was full of potential singles, this song doesn’t seem memorable at all. And you’re right, it sounds like half a dozen of the songs on her previous albums, but is not as good. That’s the problem with country music though… few artists grow and try new things. They’re too focused on getting another album out so they don’t lose momentum on their success.

it was so worth the wait! i dont think it ressembles Love Story so far except for the fact that in the song she talks through a different point of view, not hers, and the boy part at the end. the beat is completely different. everyone has a favorite singer or band, and all the songs sound different to them and they might sound the same to other people. for me, taylor swift is that singer and i will always love her songs.

I like “mine”, because even though it’s (another) love song I can tell that Taylor’s growing up and singing about more than just high school crushes and boyfriends. But hopefully there will be a wider variety of topics on Speak now. :S
Well, some of you haven’t liked Tay’s new song (Mine), but, c’mon, it is great! Maybe you think it isn’t better than “Love Story” or “You belong with Me”, but it is alike, I mean, the three songs are awesome! I think Taylor is better every single day, she’s an amazing artist, who shows us a country music with a little bit of girls’ feelings. I only like country music because of her!
