After brilliantly remaking Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” as a jazzy coffeehouse tune and releasing the joyous hand-clapping song “King Of Anything”, Sara Bareilles is putting on her sad face for her melancholy ballad “Hold My Heart.” Check out the Kaleidoscope Heart track below.

“Never mean to be the one to let you down, if anything I thought I saw myself going first / Didn’t know how to stick around, I don’t anybody but me getting hurt,” croons Sara, pondering over a broken relationship. Another pretty, elegant song from Bareilles.

You know how good Sara really is as a performer when she can turn a song about Jersey Shore into a gorgeous number. Maybe an acoustic cover of Enrique Iglesias’ “I Like It” can be next?

Kaleidoscope Heart drops September 7.
