In the black and white video for “When A Woman Loves,” the first single from R. Kelly’s forthcoming Love Letter LP, the R&B crooner sets aside his typical sexually-charged bravado for a sleek old-school Motown vibe. The five-minute clip depicts Kelly as a classy, Marvin Gaye-esque crooner laying his heart on the line for the woman he loves. Watch Robert get romantic below.

As we noted last week, “When A Woman Loves” is a beautiful song, despite the fact R. Kelly didn’t put any sort of modern twist on it or give it his usual naughty-minded spin.

Perhaps the soulful singer is taking the advice we previously offered about exploring more mature territory and leaving the trash-talk to the youngsters?

“When A Woman Loves” was directed by Jeremy Rall and R. Kelly.
