Listen To Madonna’s ‘Hard Candy’ Cuts, “Animal” And “Across The Sky”

While Madonna seems to be grooming Taylor Momsen into a material girl, we’re still holding out for new music from the pop legend. (And no, having her old tunes Glee-ified doesn’t count.) We wish these two scrapped Hard Candy cuts, “Animal” and “Across The Sky”, made us feel any more satisfied while Madonna readies more music, but alas, we’re feeling indifferent about both tracks. Hop below to judge for yourself.

It’s not remarkable, but not entirely a waste—it almost sounds like something Rihanna would record (outside of her Beyonce-ish “Only Girl (In The World)”). Honestly, we weren’t that impressed with most of Hard Candy‘s offerings anyway, so let’s call this one a wash. Madonna already had a Justin Timberlake collaboration on her album with “4 Minutes”, so we’re not surprised the JT-assisted ballad “Across The Sky” didn’t make the cut, even if it does have a sensual, Santana vibe to it. We previously posted the demo version of this track back in January—here’s a recently surfaced HQ version.
